This is a book-length experiment in a controversial postmodern research and writing genre called "autoethnography". Like the word suggests, autoethnography is 1) a form of self-reflection and writing that explores the researcher's personal experience and 2) connects this autobiographical story to winder cultural, historical, political, and social meanings and understanding.
